I don't think I've ever admired and adored a designer as much as I admire and adore the glamorous Ulyana Sergeenko. Her style is so unique and elegant. She is the perfect example of the famous Yves Saint Laurent quote - "Fashions fade, style is eternal." Her debut 2011/2012 collection made my heart swell and every single thing she wears gives me butterflies. I don't care if that sounds silly. I am certain, sometimes, that I have more love in my heart for fashion than for any man in the entire world.

I've spent my spare time working on the magazine thus my own creative work (illustrations, photography) has been pushed aside once again. But uni starts up again on the 23rd so I assure you all, I will have new and exciting things to blog about in terms of my own art! I've always had a passion for fashion and design but recently it's been on my mind constantly. I got a new sewing machine for Christmas so I'm hoping to start sewing some pretty things and getting The Deer & The Rabbit a lot more organized. There's going to be more handmade retro jewellery, hand sewn hair accessories, tote bags and prints. But for the meantime here is Issue No.3 of Pony Anarchy Magazine. Hope you enjoy!

Whilst being in Wagga Wagga, I've had the time to plan and put my creative ideas into action. After receiving a macro lens for Christmas I felt my passion for photography come crawling back. I really wanted to go ahead with the whole fairytale theme so I decided to get my sewing on and make a red cape and start planning a shoot with my friend, Madeline. On Thursday we drove an hour out of town to an amazing forest with foxes, bunnies and other gorgeous furry friends. We picked berries, frolicked amoung the flowers and got lost in another world. I'm so pleased with the results and Madeline was such a great model. You can see more images from the shoot head over to my website.

Red Riding Hood

I'm starting an illustrative body of work that focuses on the alternative interpretations and versions of fairytales, especially the underlining themes of sex. The first fairytale I'm working with is Little Red Riding Hood. Besides the overt warning about talking to strangers, there are many interpretations of the classic fairy tale including the natural cycles of the moon, the transformation and ritual from girl to woman, rape and sexual awakening. I've collected some images that work with the traditional concept of the Red Riding Hood fairytale but I especially love the the 1920's style illustrations - the colours and lines are beautiful!

British fashion photographer Tim Walker, is no doubt my biggest inspiration when it comes to Fashion Photography. At only 25 years old he shot his first fashion story for Vogue, and hasn't stopped since. His romantic style and attention to colour is something I really relate too.

These holidays have allowed me to draw, design, photograph and get crafty for my own selfish pleasure. Issue No.2 of Pony Anarchy Magazine is coming along well and I'm super excited to be shooting the first editorial shoot for Pony Anarchy this Wednesday. So expect to see some sneaky shots up on here soon! I've also been planning some fabulous things with one of my dearest friends Jaimee from Primrose Path Vintage (whilst frolicking in the sun and eating delicious treats of course). We've got some amazing ideas up our sleeves and can't wait to reveal them soon.

Open publication - Free publishing - More art

So I launched the first issue of Pony Anarchy Mag on the 20th. If you haven't already had a peek, please do! I've had such an amazing response from you all and I'd just really like to say thank you - you make all the time and effort I put in, worth it. Now that uni is finished for the year I can sit down and reply to everyone's submissions! You've probably noticed my lack of posts on this blog, but you can still read and look at all the lovely things I find and like on the magazines blog.

I've been rather slack with my dear blog over the last few weeks; I've been hurrying around getting the pony anarchy magazine together, interning at Helen Gory Galerie and not to mention finishing off uni for the year. I've finally managed to get myself a job, at T-Bar so I'm going to save my pennies and get my tattoo next year! I'm happy to say that the mag is coming along pretty well in terms of both design and the amazing creatives included within. I've also set a release date - the 20th of November! So write that down in your diary kids, or you could attend the facebook event here. I don't really have much else to report on because I'm currently in an artistic funk and can't produce anything worth looking at. However, here are some photos I took the other day whilst prancing around my neighbourhood. I love this street.

Ugh, my alarm didn't go off this morning and I woke up far too late, which meant I subsequently missed my classes.. I made up for it by drawing all day though! This one is inspired by a photo from the amazing Melbourne label, HerPony. I suppose it's quite fitting for the current races season too! I'm glad I've gotten back into my creative groove - for a while there I thought I was doomed.

When I went home a few weeks ago the cherry blossom trees in my yard were in full blossom, it was so lovely I couldn't not take a million photos. The colours are just so beautiful. I love Spring time! The fashion, the flowers, the baby animals. Perfect.

Indie-electric band Neon Indian, (members include Alan Palomo, Leanne Macomber, Jason Faries and Lars Larsen) are cool cats imo! Since 2009 they've been making music, experimenting with the whole Chillwave thing and this year collaborated with The Flaming lips. The song 'Polish Girl', off the new album Era Extraña is so happy and so much fun to dance around to. Polish Girl finds Alan Palomo reminiscing about a failed relationship of some sort, a sad, wistful tone hanging over the song. His exhausted sigh tumbles down a hill of synth lines, embracing a casual delivery, it's a song about regaining youth and, by extension, youthful love. Make sure you watch the video above. Fashion: Wildfox Swimwear 2012

I'm a big Wildfox fan. So naturally when I found out they were releasing a swimwear collection I lost my mind! I wasn't disappointed either, the line is amazing. Then again when it's modeled by Australian–based, Russian model Anja Konstantinova and photographed by Mark Hunter (The Cobrasnake) you can't exactly go wrong!

Wildfox’s fun new 2012 swimwear line brings us a feminine but cool and edgy look for the beach. 'Go West Young Cow Girl ' the story behind the photo set, dreamed up by Kimberley Gordon, depicts a Dollywood to Hollywood type story of a girl who loved road trips, ropin' cattle and feelin' as free as the United States in her bikini! The collection really stays true to their vintage inspired brand and is completely on par with the latest trends by throwing some edgy animal prints in there.

Florence And The Machine's new album is set to be titled 'Ceremonials' and released on the 31st, which so happens to be Halloween. Coincidence? I think not.

Singer Florence recently told NME that the album, the follow-up to 2009's 'Lungs', is built around the "big" themes of "love, death, violence and guilt". She commented: “It's taken the sound that I found about halfway through making ‘Lungs’ and really gone with it. I think I have taken it to the apex." Welch also said "There's big moments of confession in it, overcoming your demons and trying to find in song the ultimate hangover cure."

I can't contain my excitement. I've been in love with Florence for the last 4 years and I can't see my feelings changing anytime soon. Anybody else feelin' the same?

Designer: Sonia Rykiel

The french fashion designer, Sonia Rykiel has been around for a long time. This queen of knits, who never learned how to actually work a pair of needles, is a self-taught designer who describes her method as off-the-cuff: “First I made a dress because I was pregnant and I wanted to be the most beautiful pregnant woman, then I made a sweater” the popular 1962 'Poor Boy Sweater' “because I wanted to have one that wasn’t like anyone else’s.” Rykiel said in 2008. From there, she experimented with seams inside out, took away the hem and lining, and created a range of fragrances. Sonia later became the first designer to put seams on the outside of a garment, and to print words on her sweaters. In particular, she favours long clinging sweaters or small cropped pullovers, large rolled-back cuffs and long shawls.

Sonia took inspiration from the Côte d'Azur this season, specifically an Art Deco hotel in Juan-les-Pins, where she vacations. On the surface, her collection (as shown above) looks like classic Rykiel: an abundance of knits, trompe l'oeil touches, and a jumpsuit or two but these clothes were definitely designed with ease in mind. The knits are a mix of ultra-lightweight 16-ply cashmere, fine-gauge merino wool, finished off with Sonia's famous zigzag trims.

I'm a sucker for elegance. There aren't enough designers creating elegant but fun pieces these days. I am so tired of seeing girls with no respect for themselves and their bodies. It's important to leave some things to the imagination. My hat goes off to Sonia for continuing to create clothing that allows women to look and feel beautiful.

A couple of my friends and I went to the Oscar's Law Rally at Parliment House on Sunday.

Oscar’s law is a very simple campaign: it enables everyone to make a stand and tell the Government that "We do not want companion animals factory farmed anymore” and "We no longer want the pet industry to mislead us about what is acceptable for our animals”. - Oscars Law Organization

It was so inspiring to see so many people there, supporting the cause, and even lovelier to see so many happy and healthy dogs. If you love animals and believe in protecting them, do your bit, go to the OL website and get behind it!

It seems like the latest internet trend is to own a little online vintage shop, which is great, except my only issue is that some girls really have no idea what is and what isn't 'vintage'. Clothing from the 80's or 90's isn't vintage and there's a difference between vintage inspired and vintage pieces. Luckily I've stumbled across a few lovely vintage items from a variety of online shops run by girls that know their shit.

Frankie Issue #43 came out today. I left home earlier to make sure I got to the newsagent to pick it up before uni started. My eyes were pleasantly surprised to see a lovely interview with both Kimbra and Owl Eyes. Swoon. They are just so lovely and inspiring. Has anybody else noticed these beautiful ladies with equally beautiful voices seem to be popping out of the ground like baby sunflower buds in Spring time!? Especially ones that are of the indie-pop genre. Florence, Bertie, Regina, Feist, Sarah... say hello to Kimbra, Owl Eyes, Agnes Obel, Austra, Emma Louise and Lana Del Rey. My list of girl crushes is getting far too long. I'm starting to question my sexuality.

Luckily for us Aussie girls, Geoffrey has decided to collaborate with the one and only Sportsgirl to design a new collection for the upcoming spring/summer season! "Writing an artist statement is like writing a letter to a potential lover telling them how and why you really want to fuck them. Instead of just fucking their brains out.

I often recieve emails from online fashion communities or young designers asking me to blog about new collections or websites on PA but I don't usually end up doing it as I tend to blog about art not fashion... However, I recieved an email tonight that included something that really caught my eye.

Say hello to Young Hollywood, Stylestalkers newest lookbook.

“Young Hollywood” has been described by the label as a collection that mixes the "elegance of classic hollywood sirens" with "90's grunge." So basically Kathryn Hepburn meets Courtney Love; Sophia Loren meets an early Drew Barrymore. Personally I adore everything about this lookbook. The model, the photography and of course the stunning clothes.

This is me, wearing my heart on my sleeve and immersing myself in every aspect of this world like the naive youth that I am. I continue to wander this world in a perplexed state, awe-struck by the beautiful chaos that surrounds me. I am wide-eyed, confounded, yet beautifully connected with every other lost soul around me. Who am I? What path am I supposed to take? Where am I to go? I don’t want to know. I just want to live, for knowing these answers simply diminish the beauty of being completely lost. I am a confused, perplexed, and utterly bewildered youth, continuously winding through mazes and facing obstacles, but no matter how lost I become, I know that I wouldn’t want to live any other way, for it is this unpredictable journey that makes life so worthwhile.

I went to the 2010 Melbourne Art Fair today for uni, and oh my goodness I've never been so happy to spend $20 to walk around. Over 900 artists were displaying their work but the artist that really caught my eye was Del Kathryn Barton. Her works are so beautiful.

I love dreams. I love the insane things that my mind creates when asleep, and how real they feel. The random people that live in my mind. People I'll never see again. The random places I make my way too, but will never in 'reality'. Stories I subconsciously create and only half remember when I wake up. I wish I could record every dream I've ever had.

Samuel Bradley is a versatile photographer based in Surrey, UK. Samuel is currently in his third year at the University for Creative Arts Farnham studying a BA in Photography. In 2010 he won Practical Photography Magazine's 'Photographer Of The Year' and since then has been featured on a lot of lovely blogs, commissioned by some excellent groups of people and continues to do what he does best.

It's safe to say, I love every single photograph on his website.

So it's a pretty busy week so far! Part of my course at the academy involves attending the International Design Conference, AGideas, all this week. Basically its a big fuck off conference in Hamer Hall with 40 designers from all over the world, that come too share their work and insights of the industry with everyone. It's been pretty inspiring apart from a couple of speakers who have been insanely boring to listen to. One artist in particular that I loved listening to was Ghostpatrol. His illustrations and street art are amazing.There was also another designer who designs the crazy installations for Sportsgirl in the city, which is pretty darn impressive. Since we're lucky ducks, we scored a free Monster Children mag courtesy of Magnation and also a 500 page book with all the designers that have spoken at AGideas over the last 20 years. It's given me some nice ideas/inspiration for my next lot of projects, which I would like to point out are faaaaaaarkin' huge. But I'm excited.
